Benefits to ACSC Membership
- Engage with the interdisciplinary community of scholars, archivists, and public policy researchers currently involved with congressional studies and the history of Congress
- Join with major congressional papers repositories and study centers to build the research base for study of Congress
- Collaborate with archivists in congressional offices to develop rich collections for that research base
- Enhance visibility with Members of Congress in soliciting congressional collections
- Collaborate with the Archivist of the Senate and the Archivist of the House of Representatives to develop expertise for transfer and management of electronic records
- Partner with ACSC members to improve outreach and education about Congress and incorporate congressional collections in that effort
- Attend annual meetings bringing together scholars, archivists, and members of Congress to focus on the development and use of congressional collections
- Benefit from access to fellowships and awards:
- Grants for Research in Collections (up to $500 per researcher at a member repository)
- Richard A. Baker Graduate Student Travel Award (up to $1500 for students doing research at a member repository)
- Raymond W. Smock Fellowship (up to $1000 to an individual employed by a member repository to attend the annual ACSC meeting
- Congressional Papers Section Pre-Conference Scholarship (up to $500 to an individual employed by a member repository to attend the CPS Forum at the Society of American Archivists Annual Meeting)
